Abstract

Objective To explore the effect of nursing risk management in intensive care unit (ICU) on prognosis and complications of patients with severe pneumonia ventilator-assisted therapy. Methods From June 2014 to June 2016, 84 patients with severe pneumonia who received ventilator-assisted therapy in the ICU of the hospital were selected and divided into the control group and the observation group according to the patient's admission schedule, 42 cases of each group.Routine nursing management was conducted in the control group, and ICU nursing risk management was applied in the observation group on the basis of the control group. The prognosis and complications of the two groups were compared. Results Acute pathophysiology and chronic health scores(APACHEⅡ)were lower in the observation group than those in the control group (P<0.05). The duration of ventilator use, ICU stay and mean hospitalization were shorter than those of the control group (P<0.05). The incidence of ventilator-associated pneumonia(VAP), respiratory failure, nursing risk and nursing complaints of the observation group were lower than those of the control group(P<0.05), while the satisfaction rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group(P<0.05). Conclusions ICU nursing risk management can effectively improve the treatment effect of patients with severe pneumonia and ventilator assisted ventilation, reduce the incidence of VAP, improve the prognosis of patients and improve the patient satisfaction rate.
