Abstract
Abstract The pressure dependence of dielectric properties(permittivity ϵ and spontaneous polarization Ps)for ordered and disordered lead scandium niobate(PSN) was investigated. Ordered and disordered ferroelectric transition temperatures of PSN decrease with pressure coefficients of -4.3K/kbar and -4.5K/kbar, respectively, with increasing pressure p. For ordered PSN, there is a small decrease in the ϵ with p, while for disordered PSN, there are both a large decrease in the ϵ and an increase in the broadening of the shape of ϵ maximum with p.The sharpening of the Ps versus T curve with cation order from disorder is observed. There is a remarkable difference of the effect of the dc bias field on the ferroelectric transition between ordered and disordered PSN.
