Abstract

1. The strengthening of glass-reinforced plastic by high-modulus carbon fibers makes it possible to vary differentially the stiffness characteristics of existing blades, and, thereby, improve the dynamic characteristics of helicopter rotors. 2. Hybrid composite materials are promising for the development of rotor blades with optimum dynamic characteristics where established technical requirements for the helicopter rotor system are maintained.
