Abstract

To The Editor: The article “The Effect of Humeral Component Anteversion on Shoulder Stability with Glenoid Component Retroversion” (2005;87:808-14), by Spencer et al., is a “redundant publication.”1 A recent publication by Iannotti et al.2, in a peer-reviewed orthopaedic journal, contained data, discussion, and conclusions that were similar to those in the present article. The principal author of each of these two articles coauthored the other article. The Materials and Methods, Results, and Discussion sections of the present article are merely elaborated versions of the section titled “Glenoid Malpositioning: Humeral Stability in a Cadaveric Model” in the article by Iannotti et al.2 …
