Abstract
The influence of high temperature hydrogen treatment (HDDR-treatment) on magnetic properties of TbFe 2 and quasibinary Tb(Fe 0.8 M 0.2) 2 compounds (where M = Al, Si, Ga, Co) has been investigated. Coercive force H c increases considerably after HDDR-treatment in all investigated compounds and reaches the maximum value after hydrogen treatment in the temperature range of 700–780 °C. It was shown that TbFe 2 HDDR-powders can be used to produce the isotropic permanent magnets. Recombination of TbFe 2 during hydrogen desorption at 740–750 °C was found to proceed, at least, in two stages with the appearance of Tb 6Fe 23 as an intermediate phase.
