Abstract

Background and Aims: Intermediate stage atherosclerosis is highlighted by infiltration of oxidized low-density lipoprotein LDL and foam cell formation, resulting in the thickening of arterial walls. In this study, we aimed to investigate the effect of sonoporation- based atorvastatin therapy on intermediate stage atherosclerosis regression, wherein diagnostic ultrasound imaging system is combined with the therapy system, with a goal of increased safety.
