Abstract

The bicrystal slabs of the DD5 alloy were cast using the bi-seeded crystals. The influence of different Hf contents on the stress rupture properties with low angle boundary (LAB) of the second-generation single-crystal superalloy DD5 was investigated. The results showed that the stress rupture properties decreased with the increase of the misorientation on the same test conditions of 980 °C/250 MPa. The fracture characteristic of the specimen showed a transformation from plastic rupture to intergranular rupture with the increase of misorientation.
