Abstract
AbstractThis study provides insight into the response of a representative idealised cylindrical package to the hypothetical accident condition fire transient for contents with and without heat generation. The results show that heat generation has a small effect on package thermal response when the surface thermal resistance is greater that the internal resistance. The effect of heat generation becomes significant when the internal thermal resistance is dominant.
