Abstract

The microstructure of apatite-type lanthanum silicate (ATLS) electrolyte coatings was studied by the effects of the plasma-sprayed process parameters. This work demonstrated experimentally that the use of as-calcinated feedstock powders is sufficient to obtain the dense La10(SiO4)6O3 electrolyte coatings by atmospheric plasma spraying (APS) with an unusual broad range of gun currents.
