Abstract

The influence of design factors and ambient conditions on the efficiency of flat-plate solar collector is explored in the present study. Being an intensively used equipment for harnessing solar energy, the usage of solar collector has gained momentum due to the depletion of conventional energy resources. The motive of the present work is to enhance the performance of solar collector. Further, the influence of various factors, such as solar irradiance, overall heat loss coefficient, heat removal factor and ambient temperature on the efficiency is presented. These studies would aid in optimization of the solar collector for attaining maximum efficiency.
