Abstract

Objective To investigate the effect of functional exercise of pelvic floor muscle on postoperative recovery of patients with benign prostate hyperplasia(BPH) of acontractile detrusor(ACD). Methods 56 cases with BPH of ACD were divided randomly into observation group and control group. Two groups received conventional nursing, moreover, the observation group received functional exercise of pelvic floor muscle for 6 months. Urodynamics and international prostatic symptom scales(IPSS) were detected 6 months after postoperative. Results Comparison with control group, the isovolumetric contraction pressure of detrusor and maximumflow rates in observation group enhanced significantly (P< 0.05), while residual urine and IPSS dropped significantly (P < 0.01). Conclusion Functional exercise of pelvic floor muscle can effectively improve bladder function of cases with BPH of ACD.
