Abstract
The effect of free stream turbulence intensity on the developing flow heat transfer in a circular duct is studied. The analysis is based on the empirical correlations with regard to the effect of free stream turbulence intensity on the boundary layer transition in the entrance region of a duct. Results show a substantial effect of free stream turbulence intensity on the thermal entrance lenght as well as on the Nusselt number distribution in the region of a duct considered.
