Abstract

A field experiment was conducted during 2016 to study the influence of nano zinc application on silkworm growth and cocoon productivity at College of Sericulture, Chintamani, Karnataka. Significantly shorter moulting and 5th instar duration (91.25 h and 7.22 days respectively) and higher larval weight of 5th instar (25.78 g/10 larvae), ERR (94.00%), cocoon weight (14.63 g/10 cocoons), shell weight (2.49 g/10 cocoons), filament length (823.83 m) and finer denier (2.45) were recorded in nano zinc oxide of 20 ppm as foliar-sprayed mulberry leaves fed to the silkworm.
