Abstract

Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) was mixed with 0wt%, 2wt%, 4wt%, 6wt%, 8wt% fly ash, and mixtures were extruded into wires, then three dimensional (3D) printing prototype were printed from extruded wires. Results show that, for fly ash reinforced ABS composite, as the fly ash content increases, the tensile strength and melt flow rate (MFR) increase, but the impact strength decreases. It may mean that fly ash indeed can be used as reinforcing agent for ABS 3D printing prototype, and preparation craft and surface modification of fly ash reinforced ABS composite still need to be further explored.
