Abstract

Studies demonstrate that with a firing temperature of 1150°C feldspar grains in acid-resistant materials change very weakly, and they are mainly only vitrified along borders. An increase in firing temperature to 1200°C promotes an increase in glass content. With a firing temperature of 1250°C feldspar grains are entirely replaced by glass, penetrated by acicular mullite crystals.
