Abstract

The effect of Fe(III) during copper electrowinning was studied using an open channel cell. The interaction of various electrolysis parameters due to the presence of Fe(III) in the copper sulphate electrolyte: was evaluated. Efforts were made to evaluate the copper electrowinning process at higher current density in the presence of Fe(III). The data on current efficiency, power consumption, deposit nature, surface morphology and crystallographic orientation of the cathode deposits were obtained to provide more information for industrial processing of copper electrolyte containing high iron.
