Abstract

Objective To explore the effect of family-centered meticulous nursing care on medication-taking compliance and health status in children with epilepsy. Methods A total of 90 cases of children with epilepsy treated in our hospital were selected as the research subjects and were randomly divided into study group and control group, 45 cases of each group. The control group were given routine nursing, while the study group were given family-centered meticulous nursing care. The medication-taking compliance, subjective physical health status and objective physical health status of children of the two groups were observed. Results The medication-taking compliance of the study group was significantly higher than that of the control group (P<0.05), and the physical function and self perceived health status of the two groups after intervention was significantly higher than that before intervention (P<0.05), which in the study group was significantly higher than that in the control group (P<0.05). The attack frequencies, duration of attack within 3 months and children with abnormal EEG in the two groups after intervention was significantly less than that before intervention (P<0.05), which in the study group was less than that in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusions The family-centered meticulous nursing care is helpful to improve the medication-taking compliance of children with epilepsy and improve the health status.
