Abstract

The dependence of coercivity on stress in both surfaces of the amorphous magnetic ribbon Fe 81B 13.5Si 3.5C 2 has been investigated. The results obtained show a decrease in coercivity with increasing tensile stress applied along the direction of the magnetic field. Transversal tensile and compressive stresses are applied and an asymmetrical behaviour in coercivity is observed and discussed.
