Abstract

Objective To study the effect of extenting the insert length of gastric tube on gastric lavage in acute intoxication patients. Methods 60 acute intoxication patients were randomly divided into two groups. Control group was be taken the traditionary approach that the length of gastric tube was 45~55 cm, and the length of gastric tube in observation group was 55~75 cm. Results The time of observation group was significantly less than control group (P<0.01) . The phenomenons of bloody fluid, abdominal pain and gastric contents effusing from mouth and nose in observation group were obviously less than those in control group. Condusions Extent the length of gastric tube during gastric lavage would be achieve the effects of faster gastric lavage, unobstructed circulate, cutting down the adverse effects and complications.
