Abstract

1. The hypolipidemic agent ethyl- p-chlorophenoxyisobutyrate (CPIB) produces a retarded growth of the diptera Ceratitis capitata at larval dietary levels of 0.5–4%. Lethal effect and weight diminution after CPIB treatment during larval stage were also observed. 2. The same level of drug causes a suppressed fecundity, a fact that can be ascribed to an effect on the female metabolism.
