Abstract

1. Ethyl cellosolve produced in accordance with GOST 8313-60 with a residue content up to 3%, when added in 0.3% concentration to commercial T-1 or hydrotreated TS-1 fuel, either has no effect or a slight beneficial effect on their thermal stability properties at 150°C. 2. Ethyl cellosolve produced in accordance with GOST 8313-60 with a residue content up to 3%, when added in 0.3% concentration to TS-1 fuel, degrades the fuel thermal stability properties at 150°C (in tests with a serge-weave screen). 3. The extent of the ethyl cellosolve's effect on TS-1 fuel thermal stability depends on the amount of residue in the ethyl cellosolve and the mercaptan content of the fuel. 4. Ethyl cellosolve containing 1.3% residue, when added in 0.3% concentration to TS-1 fuel, has no effect on thermal stability at 150°C. 5. Ethyl cellosolve produced in accordance with GOST 8313-60 with an allowable residue content up to 3%, when added to TS-1 fuel, has no effect on thermal stability properties at 130°C.
