Abstract
Objective To observe the efficacy and safety of endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) for rectal carcinoid tumors.Methods Twenty-three patients with rectal carcinoid tumors underwent enteroscopy and the clinical data were analyzed,and 21 patients with tumor diameter < 2 cm were treated by ESD.Results In addition to 2 patients transferred to surgical department for partial surgical resection of anus rectal carcinoid tumors,the remaining 21 patients underwent ESD resection under endoscopy,all cases were pathologically confirmed with rectal carcinoid tumors,all survived after operation,followed up to now,no recurrence,and no liver metastasis.Conclusions ESD resection is a safe,economic and practical method for rectal carcinoid tumors,and it can be used as the preferred method.
