Abstract

The effect of electron-phonon interaction is considered on the spin (Ks), Orbital (Ko) and spin-orbit (Kso) contributions to the Knight shift. In case of Ks, it is found that the modifications caused due to the magnetic field dependence of electron self-energy in the presence of electron-phonon interaction is cancelled by the electron-phonon mass enhancement. However, in the presence of both electron-electron and electron-phonon interactions, the exchange enhancement parameter α is modified to α(1+γ)−1 where γ is the electron-phonon mass enhancement parameter. The orbital and spin-orbital contributions are mainly modified through the changes in the one-electron energies and wavefunctions.
