Abstract

Upon introduction of a certain amount of tin acceptor impurities into crystals of Bi and Bi1−xSbx alloys, the energy of plasma oscillations becomes close in magnitude to the energies of interband transitions and optical phonons. This is accompanied by a substantial enhancement of the interaction between elementary excitations and a considerable change in the relaxation time of charge carriers, which is observed experimentally in the optical and electrical properties.
