Abstract

Alkaline water electrolysis was experimentally performed using a low-cost homemade alkaline electrolyzer to produce hydrogen. The effect of electrode material on hydrogen production and efficiency was investigated. The results showed that although the increase in temperature increases the voltage, and current, the electrode material has a significant effect on hydrogen production. From the study, it was found that the stainless steel 316L Smaller electrode is a better choice for hydrogen production compared to the carbon steel electrode.
