Abstract

This study seeks to design and develop tight-fit bra that provide wearing comfort. Five different elastic material commercial bras of size 75A have been tested on three healthy females. The elasticity of different fabrics had been tested with the method of load at specified elongation by using YG(B)026H electronic fabric strength machine. The pressure values have been measured 2 hours after wearing the tight-fit bras using an AMI-3037-5S Air-pack pressure measuring system. The test points were choosed at the hem of bras where the strong pressure will often cause very serious skin traces and the wearer will feel uncomfortable. The results showed that the clothing pressure values were affected by the materials’ tensile resistance, body radius of curvature and the BMI of females. There are smaller clothing pressure and more comfortable when wearing lower tensile resistance of elastic material the tight-fit bra.
