Abstract

Objective To observe the effect of Dorothea Orem's Self-Care Theory on selfcare ability and life quality of patient with hepatic carcinoma undergoing TACE.Methods The data of 84 patients with hepatic carcinoma undergoing TACE from October 2012 to October 2014 in the hospital was retrospectively analyzed.And 40 patients from October 2012 to October 2013 received conventional nursing were as control group,while those received Dorothea Orem's Self-Care Theory nursing from November 2013 to October 2014 were as observation group.Self-care ability and life quality were compared between the two groups.Results The self-care ability and life quality in observation group were much better than that in the control group (P < 0.05).Conclusion Dorothea Orem's Self-Care Theory nursing intervention can improve self-care ability and the quality of life of patients.So it is worthy of clinical promotion.
