Abstract
We present in this work the preparation and characterization of ZnS and Mn doped ZnS thin films. Nanoparticles ZnS:Mn films were prepared by chemical bath deposition method (CBD), for various dopant concentrations. Thin films were deposed onto commercial microscope glass slides substrates. Zinc acetate, manganese acetate and thiourea were used as zinc ion source, manganese ion source and sulfide ion source respectively, in alkaline bath. X-ray diffraction (XRD) analyses were carried out at room temperature with CuKα radiation. The average crystallite size in the deposited films was obtained from a Debye–Scherrer’s formula. The morphology of the film was examined by scanning electron microscopy. IR spectra samples were recorded with the FTIR between 400 and 4000cm−1.The transmittance was performed with the UV–vis spectrometer in the wavelength range 200–800nm.
