Abstract

We have investigated the effects of donor, acceptor, and donor–acceptor codoping on both the dielectric properties and the leakage current behavior of Ba0.6Sr0.4TiO3 thin films prepared by the metalorganic solution deposition technique. La and Co were selected as donor and acceptor dopants, respectively. The electrical properties depend strongly on the type of dopants. Compared with others, codoped BST films have a much lower loss tangent, higher figure of merit, and lower leakage current. The electronic conduction mechanisms of the three types of dopants are reported.
