Abstract

The low-field conduction in uniaxially stretched polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) was considered using a simple onecarrier model in which effects of dipolar motion were included. By comparing the experimental and calculated J-t characteristics, the dipole relaxation time τ and the lower limit of carrier mobility µ of PVDF were roughly estimated as 26 s and 3×10-12 m2/(V·s), respectively, under the fields in the range of 106 to 107 V/m at 353 K.
