Abstract
The effect of digoxin on the integrated spatial T magnitude in normal subjects was studied, by employing a corrected lead system. Following sthe intravenous administration of digoxin (1.6 mg.) the integrated spatial T magnitude diminished progressively, reaching a maximal effect at six hours. Thereafter there was a gradual dissipation of this response over a five day period. No corresponding alterations in the integrated spatial QRS magnitude were observed. The T loop following digoxin tended to become more uniform in its temporal inscription with an equivalent initial and late spatial velocity. This change was associated with a diminution in magnitude of the T maximum, and the development of a smaller, more rounded T loop. The diminution in the integrated spatial T magnitude and its reversal followed a temporal course which parallels that for other measures of the physiologic response and for the metabolism and excretion of the drug.
