Abstract

The overall results revealed that the treatments with Spinosad and Clothianidin were most effective against thrips by recording the lowest mean population of 2.20 and 2.68 thrips/ three leaves, respectively and were on par with each other. Days required for first flower bud initiation, rose diameter, stalk length, vase life, number of flowers per plant varied significantly due to different pesticidal treatments under polyhouse conditions. The minimum days (34.2 days) required and earliest first flower bud initiation was observed in the treatment with Spinosad 45% SC @ 0.3 ml/l (T2) was significantly superior over the rest of treatments. The next best treatment was Clothianidin which required (34.9 days) for first flower bud initiation.
