Abstract

A comprehensive quality of life analysis was carried out in 138 patients with superficial vein thrombosis associated with varicose veins of lower limbs estimating the short- and medium-term results of surgical treatment on the basis of “CIVIQ- 2” Interviewer. Patients were divided into 2 groups: control and basic. The treatment tactics of these groups differed: in the basic group the indication of different doses of anticoagulation drugs (therapeutic or prophylactic) was based on the initial D-dimer blood levels and during operation all areas of great and small saphenous vein remained unaffected by abnormal reflux. The results showed that thrombotic postoperative complications occurred during the proposed treatment tactics statistically significantly less, no pathological reflux was found in any the remained unaffected areas of great or small saphenous vein within a year after operation and, which is the most important, statistically significant more pronounced improvement of patients’ quality of life was provided. It enables to recommend the proposed treatment strategy as the method of choice in patients with superficial vein thrombosis associated with varicose veins.
