Abstract

Objectives To analyze the effect of different bowel preparation methods on intestinal cleaning and compliance for patients with bladder cancer after drug therapy. Methods A total of 84 cases of patients with bladder cancer in our hospital from October 2013 to November 2014 were randomly divided into control group and study group, 42 cases in each group. The two groups were treated with conventional bowel preparation, while the control group was treated with castor oil after enema, the study group was treated with polyethylene glycol electrolyte added with castor oil after enema, then the effect of the two groups was observed. Results The intestinal cleaning of the study group was significantly better than the control group, the incidence of adverse reactions was significantly less than that of the control group, postoperative medication compliance was significantly higher than the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusions The effect of conventional bowel preparation combined with polyethylene glycol electrolyte and castor oil after enema is better, which could effectively reduce the incidence of adverse reactions in bowel preparation and improve the intestinal cleanliness and postoperative medication compliance. This method can be used as the first choice in preoperative bowel preparation for patients with bladder cancer. Key words: Urinary Bladder Neoplasms; Gastrointestinal Tract; Patient Compliance
