Abstract

In the present paper various attributes of different attribute categories viz. student's background, academic, social, and psychological attributes, have been analyzed by using cross-tabulation method and chi-square test with programming language Python to find their effect on students' academic performance. For the purpose a data of 383 students of different engineering branches has been collected via online mode using Google form. Findings of the present study revealed that student's past academic performance along with some background attributes such as gender, category, parents' education, living location, and language of previous study have a strong relation with students' grade in first semester while the psychological attributes have nominal effect.
