Abstract

This research aimed to determine the effect of Dielectric Barrier Discharge (DBD) plasma treatment on the physical, chemical, and biological parameters of drinking water. This research was conducted using a DBD plasma reactor with treatment time were 0, 5, 10, 15 and 20 minutes at AC voltage 5 kV. The results showed that there was an effect of DBD plasma treatment on the physical, chemical, and biological parameters of drinking water. The value of Total Dissolved Solid (TDS) and the number of bacteria in drinking water given DBD plasma treatment decreased with the lowest values of 148.33 ppm and 4 MPN/100 ml after sample treatment for 20 minutes. The pH value is stable, which is between 7-8. Based on this research, it can be seen that there is an effect of DBD plasma treatment on the physical, chemical, and biological parameters of drinking water.
