Abstract

Neuroblastoma and astrocytoma cell lines were grown in the presence of dibutyryl cyclic AMP. DNA and RNA syntheses were inhibited, but protein synthesis was stimulated. The results suggest the possible involvement of protein synthesis in the dibutyryl cyclic AMP-induced morphological differentiation of mammalian cells in culture.
