Abstract

The authors state the results of radioecological studies on the territory of the Terek-Kuma Lowland. They analyze the rate of migration of radionuclides in soils affected to varying degrees, i.e., weak and strong, by desertification. It was found that, in terms of the intensity of the process of aridity and desertification, increasing migration ability and high sorption of uranium and thorium radionuclides by soils occurs.
