Effect of Depositions on PV Panel with proposal of a self cleaning system

Abstract

Environmental factors play major role in performance of PV panel. Impact of depositions in varying shapes, sizes and characteristics have been used in four varying quantities to study its effect individually and all together on the performance of PV Panel. Dust on a panel is depends on the location of the panel. Moisture, wind speed and temperature are some parameters which effects the type of deposition on the panel. PV panel Outputs are measured and compared to study the difference in effects of trash depositions. Over time, accumulated dust on a solar panel is a natural process. In a month of dust accumulation, the solar panel's efficiency can be reduced by up to 35%. This paper presents evidence that dust accumulation affects the solar panel, and proposed an automated cleaning system to overcome this problem.
