Abstract

DDT in an oral dose of 100 mg/kg increases the excretion of norepinephrine in the urine, whereas a dose of 150 mg/kg increases excretion of norepinephrine and epinephrine. Depletion of adrenal epinephrine indicates that the adrenal glands are the source of the epinephrine excreted. Increased urine output follows an oral dose of 116 mg/kg of p,p′-DDT or 150 mg/kg of technical grade DDT.
