Abstract

The possibility to control waves reflectivity by means of external DC magnetic field has special interest, since the magnetic field represent a flexible tool to manipulate the electromagnetic properties of layered superconductors. In the present work we study the effect of external DC magnetic field on the reflection of transverse-magnetic (TM) waves of terahertz range from a semi-infinite sample of layered superconductor. We obtain the analytical expression for reflectivity and show that the presence of DC magnetic field can either increase or decrease the reflectance depending on the problem parameters. Special attention is focused on the minimization of reflectance as a function of incident angle, static magnetic field and wave frequency. The obtained results can be used in terahertz detectors and filters designing.
