Abstract

In this paper, we have studied the effect of various arc current on synthesis of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) using carbon black as a raw material by pulsed arc discharge technique which has not been reported in literature. We have traced the phase transformation of Carbon Black for various arc current from 22 to 40A at a constant time interval of 60sec in argon atmosphere. The phase transformation morphology was evaluated using X-ray Diffraction (XRD) and the Field emission scanning electron micrographs (FESEM) images shows the transformation of Carbon black to various structures and finally to tubular like structure through TEM (Transmission Electron Microscope) conform the MWCNTs formation.
