Abstract

The effect of third-order nonlinear polarization on the sum-frequency mixing process has been theoretically investigated in an asymmetric InGaAs-AlAs quantum well. The effect of doping on the interband mixing process is considered. The cubic nonlinearities induced by a strong intersubband coupling field significantly modify the sum-frequency absorption process in doped structures.
