Abstract

Methyl deoxycholate attached to lactate dehydrogenase can enhance the catalytic activity of the enzyme towards pyruvate. The Km value of the pyruvate remained unaltered. However, the specific activity of the enzyme was enhanced by about twenty percent. In the basic medium, the modified enzyme was found to be inactivated faster than the native enzyme.
