Abstract

Abstract Soap-free emulsion polymerization of styrene was carried out to synthesize particles with the size under 100 nm. Changing the concentration of initiator, VA-044, enabled us to control the size under 100 nm in soap-free emulsion polymerization of styrene. Furthermore, making the counter ion radius in initiator smaller was effective for reducing the size of particles in the polymerization.
