Abstract

Objective To analyze the effect of correct stance on functional recovery and pain after transforaminal endoscopic surgery for lumbar spinal stenosis, and to accumulate evidence-based experience of quality care for these special groups. Methods 50 patients with lumbar spinal stenosis who underwent transforaminal surgery at our hospital from January to September, 2017 were set as a control group; traditional nursing intervention was implemented. 54 cases of lumbar spinal stenosis treated by an intervertebral-assisted endoscopy from October, 2017 to May, 2018 were set as a study group; correct postural stance was performed on the basis of conventional interventions in the control group. The visual analogue pain scores and lumbar spine function scores were compared between the two groups before and after the intervention. Results The pain score of the study group was (5.6±1.1), which was higher than that of the control group (7.5±1.7) (P <0.05). The lumbar function score of the study group was (34.5±2.0), which was higher than that of the control group (60.3±4.8) (P <0.05). Conclusions For patients with lumbar spinal stenosis who underwent transforaminal surgery, proper postural stance can promote the functional recovery and reduce the degree of somatic pain, so it is worth for further promotion in clinic.
