Abstract

Objective To probe into the effect of community rehabilitation team to the activities of daily living(ADL) among cerebral apoplexy patients. Methods We use quasi-experimental design, a total of 46 cerebral apoplexy patients living in community were divided into experimental group (n = 26) and control group (n=20) randomly. For the experimental group patients, the community rehabilitation team which includes community medical doctor, preventive health care doctor and community nurses gaving health education, function training and nursing. For the control group patients, the doctor and the nurses gave the routine treatment and nursing. The activities of daily living (ADLs) of the patients were measured before intervention, 1 months, 3 months and 6 months after intervention, and the results were compared between to groups. Results The ADLs of experimental group patients were improved significantly (P=0.000) more than the control group patients.Conclusions The intervention of community rehabilitation team can improve the ADL and the QOL among cerebral apoplexy patients, this community rehabilitation model can be recommend extensively.
