Abstract

Introduction: Heart disease is still a global health problem and the highest cause of death in Indonesia.This study aims to analyze the influence of demographic factors and metabolic disease on heart disease.Methode: It is quantitative research with cross-sectional design. The data came from the results ofthe 2018 Basic Health Research survey. Data analysis uses logistic regression. The population was allhouseholds in Indonesia. The sample was population aged 15 years. Results: Community characteristicsand metabolic disease factors significantly affected the P value of the Wald’s test (Sig) < 0.05. Basedon the value of Nagelkerke R Square (Pseudo R-Square), demographic factors have an influence of3% and metabolic disease factors have an influence of 6% on heart disease. Conclusion: Communitycharacteristics and metabolic disease factors have a significant effect on heart disease. Therefore, it isnecessary for health workers to socialize government policies regarding guidelines for preventing heartand blood vessel disease correctly and comprehensively.
