Effect of Clay Content on the Adsorption Loss of Surfactant in ASP Floods Systems

Abstract

This paper discussed the mechanism of adsorption of the petroleum sulfonate and heavy alkylbenzene sulfonate on reservoir sand mixed with clay of Daqing oil field. The results showed that: the adsorption of surfactant increased with the increasing of the surfactant equilibrium concentration and clay content in the ASP floods systems; interfacial tension decreased with the increasing of surfactant content; the interfacial tension become higher after adsorption on the reservoir sand. Application result of weak base system is better than strong base, because of the lower adsorption and interfacial tension is provided.
