Abstract

Circular RNAs (circRNAs) is a new type of endogenous non-coding RNA, which has become a research hotspot recent years. CircRNAs exist abundantly and stably in organisms. Nowadays, more and more scientists have demonstrated that circRNAs may play critical roles in the regulation of gene expression, including the most important micro-RNA sponge effects, post-transcriptional regulation, and translational regulation and more. The associated mechanisms of action of circRNAs in a variety of diseases attract scientists attention, and its clinical value has gradually been discovered. In this review, we discuss the biological occurrence, essence and role of circRNAs and their impact implications for cardiovascular disease. Key words: Circular RNAs; Cadiovascular disease; Clinical therapeutic value
